For example: The graduate who missed his ceremony at Radio City Music Hall after his train was delayed two hours due to an emergency brake malfunction.

Per WABC, Jerich Marco Alcantara's E train was so severely delayed Tuesday that he was unable to make it to his Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing graduation in time. When he jokingly thanked his fellow passengers for attending his graduation, he and his friends turned the experience into a makeshift ceremony.

A video from the subway car shows a friend presenting Alcantara with a DIY diploma as Green Day's "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" played in the background. Frankly, this sounds more enjoyable than a traditional ceremony.
