【Mother】

TorrentFreak's most pirated movies list is Motheran excellent gauge of popular movies as well as the Hollywood zeitgeist.

The new additions to the top 10 most pirated this week include the comedy Tag, the weird body-horror future of Upgrade, and the harrowing tale of two people Adrift. Sounds like a relaxing time in front of the computer screen. The rest of the list is the usual super-heroics, with Deadpool 2still the most downloaded of the week.

The Megdidn't have the staying power of some blockbusters; after one week in the top, it's been thrown back. Along with it goes Raazi, and the brief return of Overboad, proving there's only room for one boating film about two people in love in this list.

If you've seen any movies in the top 10 (we won't ask how), we'd love to hear what you think.

10. Sanju

Sanjuis a movie based on a true story but it doesn't seem like it. It's a Bollywood biopic that follows the career of actor Sanjay Dutt, who came from a family of cinematic legends but made his own name infamous.

9. Escape Plan 2: Hades

This movie is for those who presumably saw the first Escape Planand wanted more. The sequel, however, is missing Arnold Schwarzenegger. Sylvester Stallone is the lone 80s action hero here, but 50 Cent keeps him company.

8. Rampage

Jumanjiwas child's play compared to Rampage. The Rock and an albino gorilla have to save Chicago from rampaging animals in this movie based on the video game of the same name.

7. Tag

Take a couple of super-star leading men, pair them with not-as-hunky comedic types, try to make it look like they were all in school together despite their wildly different ages, and say they're still playing the same game of tag decades later. This is the film you get.

6. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

The way to up the stakes in a movie with dinosaurs is to introduce a volcano. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdomhas Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard desperately trying to save dinosaurs. Again. The pirated versions of the movie out there are both HDTC (high quality) and CAM (low quality), probably a lot like the mix of performances themselves.

5. Skyscraper

Stop me if you've heard this one before: criminals take over a skyscraper, and it's up to one man who used to be in law enforcement to stop them! But Skyscraperis more than just a re-hash (not a remake—it's actually a remake of a Chinese movie of the same name) of Die Hard. I guess. Why? Because the guy's kids are in there, not just his wife. And The Rock's character only has one leg. See how different that is?

4. Adrift

Shailene Woodley and Sam Claflin leave behind their young-adult dystopias and team up for a love story on the high seas. Albeit one based on a true story where they almost die thanks to a boat ride in a hurricane.

3. Upgrade

A Blumhouse Production: the budget is low so the potential for profit is (was) high. That's what you get in this sci-fi body horror flick import from Australia, about a technophobe in the future who has to go full cyborg. Hijinks—and some hilarious-looking fights—ensue, as the lead lets the computer implant take over his body during battle.

2. Avengers: Infinity War

It didn't take long for the latest MCU movie to become the king of the box office—and the pirated list. It's an HDCAM version shot in a theater, with all the crowd noise a viewer could wish for. That's how much fanboys couldn't wait to see (SPOILER) Hulk and Black Widow finally get the romance they deserve, with Thanos presiding over their wedding. Rocket Raccoon is the best man. Groot is the flower girl.

1. Deadpool 2

If you liked Deadpool, you may also like Deadpool 2. That's how these things usually work, right? Pretty much, according to MovieBob, who says: "It’s a lot messier and less consistent than the first, but I also feel like it’s a lot funnier." Deadpool comes up against X-Men villain Cable and, of course, takes on the X-Men themselves with some verbal throwdowns.
