Altered Carboncommits fully to the sci-fi cyberpunk genre979 Archives but is there a nod to our favorite fantasy zeitgeist, Game of Thrones? Keen-eyed Redditors noticed what may be a religious symbol from Game of Throneslurking in the scenery of Altered Carbon.

Early in episode three, Prescott (Tamara Taylor) visits the police station to invite Maria (Martha Higareda) to a party at the Bancrofts' residence way up in the clouds. An exterior shot of the police station reveals the stained glass windows of its edifice and a seven-pointed star – the symbol of the Seven.

It's worth pointing out that Thronesand Carbonhave one big thing in common: Director Miguel Sapochnik, who directed six of the 10 Altered Carbonepisodes and such seminal Throneschapters as Season 6 finale "The Winds of Winter."

Altered Carbontakes place in a borderless, multicultural world (think: Blade Runner), where people switch between languages regardless of ethnicity and can end up in bodies different from the one in which they were born. It's not a stretch that this human melting pot would contain different faiths and folklore, including the Faith of the Seven.
Metro notes that viewers have noticed other Easter eggs, like clips of the Westworldscore and what might be a Highlanderprop in other episodes, so Altered Carbon might just be nerd paradise upon closer inspection.
We might have to watch it again to be sure. Altered Carbonis now streaming on Netflix.
